Discipline & Grievance- Martin Stephen
This session will be delivered by Martin Stephen, an Employment Law specialist at Wright, Johnston and Mackenzie LLP. Martin is a highly experienced Employment Lawyer.
In this session Martin will explore the nature of conflict in the workplace and help participants understand: the essentials of fair procedure; what tools are available to resolve conflict; decide which approach to use and when; and, understand their role in transforming and repairing relationships. Martin will set out the key actions that you need undertake to ensure effective and fair discharge of grievance and disciplinary procedures.
Competence- Lily Proudfoot
This session will look at dealing with Staff Competence Issues highlighting appropriate approaches to holding meetings, providing support, appropriate record keeping and formulating action plans. It will also cover working with and mentoring failing Probationers and the requirements necessary for the GTCS to take successful action.
This training will be delivered by Lily Proudfoot. Lily is AHDS Area Officer for Angus, Dundee, Fife and Perth and Kinross. She is an experienced HT and a former elected member of the GTCS Council who served as a Panel Convener for Professional Standards. She is currently serving, as an appointee, as a Convener and Panel Member in GTCS Fitness to Teach Panels and Hearings.
