An Afternoon with Paul Dix
We are delighted to bring Paul Dix to Scotland in March with two afternoon sessions in Aberdeen and Glasgow.
5 March - Aberdeen 2-4pm
6 March - Glasgow 2-4pm, Fully Booked
With a short presentation from Gayle Gorman, Chief Executive of Education Scotland, to start the afternoon Paul will then lead a session originally intended as part of our 2018 annual conference.
Paul Dix is a speaker, author and notorious teacher-wrangler in huge demand. He is founder and Executive Director of Pivotal Education. As a teacher, leader and teacher trainer, Paul has been working to transform the most difficult behaviour in the most challenging schools, referral units and colleges for the last 25 years. Paul is Chair of the Board of Directors of a Multi Academy Trust and co-hosts the www.pivotalpodcast.com. His bestselling book ‘When the Adults Change, Everything Changes’ was published in June 2017.
When The Adults Change, Everything Changes - A truly great school is a school that can succeed with all learners, not just the well-mannered ones. The difference in these schools is the way that the adults behave.
Great behaviour management is not skills led. Neither is it imported with ‘magic’ behaviour systems, bought with data tracking software or instantly achieved by screaming ‘no excuses’. In behaviour management getting the culture right is pivotal. With the culture right the strategies that are used become less important. The culture is set by the way that the adults behave. Paul will show you how to initiate, sustain and embed seismic shifts in policy and practice to transform pupil behaviour. He will demonstrate the power of agreed changes in adult behaviour and challenge you to examine your school behaviour culture.
