Building racial literacy - new cohort open for applications

The Building Racial Literacy (BRL) programme, developed by Education Scotland, is a programme that gets extremely positive reviews and is always in high demand.  The application process for a newly announced cohort has just opened.  To find the application form visit: https://professionallearning.education.gov.scot/learn/programmes/building-racial-literacy/ and look for “Applying for the programme”

The number of applications has been extremely high in cohorts 1-3.  With that in mind, Education Scotland are prioritising specific groups for inclusion in this cohort.  AHDS membership categories are at the top of these priority groups (school leaders PT and beyond) as are applications from people based in Eilean Siar and Shetlands (local authorities that haven't been represented on previous BRL cohorts).

Participants on the Building Racial Literacy programme are expected to commit to all the programme dates. The programme is facilitated online, with an optional smaller, in-person induction for the nationally-identified priority group, headteachers. With this in mind, the key dates for the programme are published at the outset - if you can't commit to them all, please don't apply for this cohort:
