While it would be false to say that these days are gone entirely there are some great strides being taken to simplify and signpost resources focussed on current priorities and issues that come up time and again. Here are three short links to resources you will want to have at your fingertips (rather than trawling the Education Scotland website for them!).

First we have the ‘Primary Toolkit’ – short link for your browser ow.ly/L8apc

This focusses on the evaluation and development of different aspects of the curriculum. It provides a front page and short inputs on key issues you may be facing in Primary.

Second we have the quarterly Primary bulletin – short link ow.ly/L8c0I

This allows you to sign up to a quarterly newsletter to be delivered direct to your inbox with all the latest information you will need to know as a primary school leader.

Thirdly we have the Primary Resource Round-up – short link ow.ly/MZuAk

This is possibly our favourite. This is another quarterly resource – only on the second edition – which pulls together on two sides of A4 – links to key new, updated and useful resources and tools you might want to access as a primary practitioner.

So, while there is no doubt that the Education Scotland website is still a vast and largely unnavigable repository of good works there is now some great signposting going on. So sign up to the bulletin and use these tools to guide you through the labyrinth. It is better than a ball of string!
